About Me

Who am I?
...No, I'm not going to bust into song as Jean Valjean. I promise. Though I am a fan of the character as an example of perseverance and overcoming uncountless odds to live a life the way he wanted...But I digress. Rather I will send you a quick summary of myself.

I live in a small sized New England town and I have a family; complete with house, kids, pets and yard work. I grew up here, went to HS and did some college in New England (UNH) and then at 23 I moved to the southwest. I went to school in Arizona for digital animation and earned a BA at UACT (now UAT). I lived in the Phoenix area for 5 years until returning to the shoreline of the East coast in 2002.

I've been gaming since the late 70's, first on an Intellivision, then the classic "Heavy six-er", and eventually up through the Nintendo ranks. I lost my youth to Link and the realms he roamed playing within them over and over again. My favorite challenge was to skip the wooden sword, pushing blocks, then burning bushes to earn coins and hearts, until I earned what I needed to attain the White sword. Blaster Master, Mario thrice, Metal Gear, Arkanoid... Eventually moving up to SNES, 64 and Cube. I now own a Wii, a PS3 and all of the other systems listed here (yup...even the "heavy-sixer"). I primarily play the PS3, but the kids and Wife like the Wii. Alright... I like the Wii also. In addition, both kids own a DS...Video game life is Good.

Along the way I dabbled in table games...Still have sheets for Whitewolf's "Werewolves" and AD&D (2nd ed) Fighters, Psionics, Theifs and Warriors (along with a were-bear familiar mount for the favorite fighter). Today I use my dice for rolling out new table top game ideas though.

I always had a passion for Fantasy and Science Fiction. But my TV choices are all over the place. As of late I am JONESING for the return of "Game of Thrones" (Red Wedding was awesome... come on season 4!) ... I miss the X-Files and accepted Fringe as a substitute, I follow Survivor for laughs, and Big Bang and Psyche for the real laughs! Mike and Molly is good too...but 2 Broke Girls is quickly becoming a fav as well.

Aside from playing games, I also have taught game design. I worked for a B
oston school system for almost 3 years teaching various types of level design, game development, character and story design/development, engine use, modeling, video editing, interface design...I had fun with it, but I moved on from the school and looked forward to the next chapter in life.

That next chapter was web development where I currently find myself. I am a front end designer for a global women's fashion company. I am part of a 5 person web team and I am the sole developer for the front end requirements. We have a team for the database and all of the back end stuff...I get to focus on the pretty front end stuff! I also work as a freelance designer developing marketing strategies for companies, working on web design and print production. I own a music management business and if I had any clients of note I would name drop, but they are all strangers to you.

My love for gaming has sent me onto a new adventure as well. Since September of 2012 I have been attending the Savannah College of Art an Design (SCAD) for my MFA in Interface Design and Game Development. The school is in Savannah, however the entire curriculum (carbon copy) is offered through eLearning. It has been a struggle at times as the classwork is quite taxing, but it has certainly been quite mind expanding!

In my spare time (Really? Can I even HAVE spare time?) I work around the house as a land-scraper/gardener with the family, and enjoy planting and harvesting food. Who doesn't like food... especially the shit you started yourself as a seed?! I am a Bruins fan, a Sox fan and a Pats fan. The Celtics play a crappy sport, otherwise I'd be a fan of them too.

This is my summary. If you want to know more, you can wait for the book. No Seriously... eve
ryone should write an autobiography and I plan to eventually. Oddly enough I already have 2 other fiction works started... More on those later. Once I finish the other 13,998 items on the "to do list." I will start that autobiography. Writing this summary was one of them. CHECK!
